Ever since we launched our new Exhaust Pro fabric all we have heard is "wait, what about the Emperor", "where is the Emperor", "when will the emperor get redesigned?!" Well you know what? Great product design is like making fine wine, the process takes time. With this in mind our team made the difficult decision to delay this pillar of our line one more year. This gave us time to make it more than just a colour change and completely remake the suit from the ground up. With that as the goal, the majority of our effort went into the Emperor fitting into our new design ethos, making products that your customers will forget that they are wearing. To do this our design team focused on the fit, the suppleness of the reinforcement areas and the ergonomics of the rear entry. The goal was to make a rear zip that is easier to operate every day and that paddlers do not feel when they are on the water. Not to toot our team's horn but they absolutely nailed it.
In addition to these improvements the Emperor now features modular suspenders, transforming it into a true expedition suit. Easy to adjust and featuring a supple and low profile build that keeps the suit exactly where it needs to be without altering the paddling experience whatsoever. Knowing that suspenders are not everyone's cup of tea (they should be though) our team kept the waist belt and made the suspenders removable. So if your customers don't want them, or only want them for multidays or long portages, then that choice rests with them.
Next year is Level Six's 30th anniversary and it seemed only fitting to make it the year that we redesign our most iconic product.
